How Did the Ancient South Americans Construct Massive Walls?

Image
I should add buildings as well, since some aspects of the techniques used range from Egypt to South America. The first is rock softening. Rock Softening Hiram Bingham roamed South America in the early 1900s and is credited with rediscovering Machu Picchu in 1911. He relates the following: The modern Peruvians are very fond of speculating as to the method which the Incas employed to make their stones fit so perfectly. One of the favourite stories is that the predecessors to the Incas knew of a plant whose juices rendered the surface of a block so soft that the marvellous fitting was accomplished by rubbing the stones together for a few moments with this magical plant juice! By the time the Incas came along, they had to use much smaller stones (as seen in the background). The original methods had been forgotten. A predatory flying dinosaur that still exists? A derivative thereof?

Image
This creature has been seen flying in the Yosemite natural park, and others.  People have died and their bodies recovered in the most unusual places. It seems that their clothes made them slip from its talons. The head is central, tilted to one side. A DERIVATIVE THEREOF? By Megan Shersby published March 2, 2024 Shoebills reach up to 5 feet in height and they are formidable ambush predators, standing still in swamps before lunging forward to swallow their prey whole with their giant bills. Although sometimes incorrectly referred to as a stork, the shoebill is actually the only member of the Balaeniceps genus and the wider family Balaenicipitidae. Why it's awesome: This menacing and prehistoric-looking bird can grow up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall – and is equipped with a sharp-edged, 1-foot-long (0.3 meter) bill — the third-largest bird beak in the world.  Its giant bill and long, skinny legs make it a formidable ambush predator —standing completely still before lunging fo...

Craft that can travel to huge speed without creating sonic boom

Last month, Lockheed Martin and NASA jointly revealed the X-59 experimental aircraft , which is expected to fly at 1.4 times the speed of sound (925mph) without generating an explosive sonic boom. The sleek jet is expected to play an instrumental role in bringing back supersonic commercial air travel. But what if I tell you that researchers are working on a submarine that could travel more than three times faster than the X-59 jet? Yes, you read that right, and it is possible to travel at those speeds underwater, at least theoretically. Back in 2016, a team of researchers at Penn State Applied Research Laboratory funded by the US Navy started the development work on a revolutionary submarine that can attain supersonic speeds. Obviously, the biggest problem for vessels reaching high speeds both on the surface of water or below it is the huge amount of drag created while moving through it. But there’s a simple solution to overcome drag underwater – a bubble. The researchers are wor...
